Oh gosh, the comics are shrinking! But that's totally intentional, so no cause for concern. I changed the method I upload the comics again, and as a result they look just horrible when blown up to the size I was working with before.

Neat thing about today's episode: you can actually break the events down into standard rounds for D&D. The orc attempts to sunder Lyle's shield, but fails. Because the orc failed, Lyle's allowed to try to do the same, breaking the axe. Next is Lyle's turn, where he lands a hit on the orc. The orc, now injured and weaponless, makes a withdrawal. Lyle then takes his last action, he drops his sword (free action), draws the axe head (free action since his attack bonus is above +1, although some people will argue that he isn't technically drawing the weapon), chases the orc (move action), and throws the axe-head (standard action).

It's worth mentioning that by all rights Lyle should not have been able to hit the orc with the broken axe. It's not a throwing weapon (-4 penalty), it's probably considered an improvised weapon in its current condition (-4 penalty), and the orc would be up to five range increments away (-10 penalty). So we can call that one a critical threat, or else it would have been impossible for Lyle to land an attack.
